I don't find Mario overrated. I find Mario games to be quite fun and challenging.
I basically grew up on Mario, with the fact that my first real game was Super Mario 64. So, yeah. I vote for Mario games.
It's a tough call, actually, due to the fact that many of the other games are pretty fun as well. Zelda and Metroid both get credit. And I have also grown on Pokemon, too.
